BARC Community Partnership

Farmgate Meats joins paws with BARC to feed furry friends in need.

Bathurst City Centre in collaboration with Farmgate Meats has found a heartwarming way to give back to the community by teaming up with the Bathurst Animal Rehoming Centre (BARC) to support animals in need.

BARC, run by the Bathurst Regional Council, provides care and shelter for stray, lost, or unwanted animals, helping them reunite with their owners or find loving new homes. This vital service is further strengthened by the support of our community and local businesses including Farmgate Meats.

Creating a zero-waste solution: As part of a sustainable zero-waste initiative led by Bathurst City Centre, Farmgate Meats donates fresh off cuts daily to BARC. What could have been landfill waste now nourishes hungry animals, filling their bowls with wholesome food while reducing environmental impact.

Local supporting local: This partnership highlights the role of local businesses in making a difference. For Farmgate Meats, a third-generation butcher, it’s about more than quality meat—it’s about supporting their community in meaningful ways.

By turning waste into nourishment, this partnership isn’t just keeping leftovers out of landfill—it’s filling bowls, feeding furry friends, and making a lasting difference, one paw at a time!
