Summerween
Summerween started in America with people who loved Halloween so much, they decided to celebrate it twice, a little like Christmas in July. For Aussies, it makes perfect sense. Think pool parties with floaties from, The Reject Shop, lightweight costumes from Casey's Toys and watermelons carved instead of pumpkins from Woolworths.
If you’re looking for a playful way to bring Halloween to life while it’s still light out, Summerween is the way to go, bright, bold, and uniquely ours.
Costume Ideas 2025
The days of only scary costumes are gone this year, it’s all about looks that are cool, creative, and made to be remembered.
We’re expecting:
- Demon Hunters after the success of Netflix’s fantasy hit.
- Showgirls, inspired by Taylor’s newly announced album.
- Racing looks, thanks to the hype around Brad Pitt’s new F1 film.
Costumes aren’t just about dressing up anymore they’re about capturing a vibe, a reference, or a cultural moment. Take a look at The Reject Shop, Best & Less and Casey's Toys for inspo.
Halloween Snacks
Halloween food is getting just as creative as the costumes. Think finger hotdogs, ghost strawberries, mummy-wrapped bananas, and even edible band-aids made from vanilla wafers and red icing.
And it doesn’t stop at kids’ parties, the grown-ups are having fun too. Blackberry margaritas, pumpkin spice espresso martinis, and blood-red sangria jugs are making their way onto Halloween tables. It’s all about food (and drinks) that look just as fun as they taste. Make yourself a shopping list and head to Coles, Woolworths, ALDI, Lakeside Fruit Barn, BWS, Liquorland and Kmart!
